Why can't I receive some of my channels?

You may require an aerial upgrade, as your existing rooftop aerial may be damaged or incorrectly positioned to receive DVB.
We would recommend you contact your local CAI (Confederation of Aerial Industries) installer to arrange an aerial survey.

    Visit www.cai.org.uk for more information

My Db strenght goes to N/A when I scan for channels ?

This is normal, and NOT an error !

When I scan for channels, DVB-PLUS doesn't find any channels, what I'm doing wrong ?

Being able to find channels, depends on several factors.

First, is the DVB signal strong enough in your area ? and have you tried to use an outdoors DVB-T compatible antenna (WIDEBAND UHF & VHF), or place the cards antenna outside your building.

(for example: use the rubber sucker and stuck the antenna on a window )

It is important to check these things first, as these are the main reasons why your DVB-T100 might not pick any channels.

What kind of antenna can I use to receive DVB signals ?

You need a "Wideband" antenna, that are able to receive BOTH, VHF and UHF channels.

Do not expect an INDOOR antenna to work !

For info about you area check the website at:

    http://wwww.dtt-tx-info.org/change_tx.htm

Please contact a local TV Dealer to hear the best solution for your area.

Will I need a new aerial?

If you are in a coverage area you should be able to receive DVB with your existing rooftop aerial providing it is in good condition. However, if you experience reception problems we would recommend you arrange to have an aerial survey.

If the survey shows you require an aerial upgrade, there will be an extra cost. There are a number of reasons why your current aerial may not be able to receive DVB, such as its age, condition, positioning or the quality of the cabling used. If you do require an upgrade, we recommend a 'wideband' rooftop aerial which is capable of receiving digital frequencies.

We advise you to contact the Confederation of Aerial Industries, the trade body for independent aerial installers www.cai.org.uk They can advise you of local installers who are CAI members.

Why do I get 'blocking' on my digital pictures?

Blocking is caused in most cases either by a reception problem, such as too low a signal, or some kind of interference. In either case an aerial installer should be able to advise on how your reception might be improved providing you are in a DVB coverage area.

We suggest you contact a local aerial installer for an aerial survey www.cai.org.uk

    I can’t seem to get Tele-text working ?

The main issue is that in the UK its not a standard teletext broadcasting area.

In UK, The Tv stations broadcast in MHP (Multimedia Home Platform) signal,

Which its not real teletext. Unfortunately, our product doesn't support MHP solution at this moment.

Can I recieve digital channels in my area ?

At the moment, 74% of homes are in a coverage area, which means there are a few areas where DVB cannot be received. However after digital switchover DVB will be available in 98.5% of UK homes. Digital switchover will be happening in your area some time between 2008 and 2012. It will happen TV region by TV region, depending on where you live.

For more information about the switchover to digital TV, visit www.digitaluk.co.uk or call Digital UK, the non-profit organisation co-ordinating the UK's move to Digital television on 0845 6 50 50 50.

What type of aerial do I need?

If you are installing a new aerial we recommend a wideband rooftop aerial.

It may be possible to receive DVB channels through a loft aerial however due to their location loft aerials often receive a weaker digital signal and are more susceptible to interference from the other electrical equipment within your home.

Can I watch DVB using a portable set-top aerial?

A small number of households may be able to use a portable set-top aerial.

However we strongly recommend that you use a rooftop aerial for good reception.

I live in a block of flats with a communal aerial, can I still receive DVB Channels?

If you live in a flat or a similar building which has a shared communal aerial system (e.g. in a block of flats) you may be able to receive services via your existing communal aerial, providing it has been upgraded to receive digital signals.

If you are in doubt about whether your system has been upgraded please contact your landlord or housing association.

The patch, states that the system has NOT been modified ?

This is just a text error in the patch !
    Your software WAS modified !

I have installed DVB-PLUS, and in the setup I'm asked about the Video system settings

The video system settings are only relevant when using the DVB-T100 card to encode

A video stream originating from another device, such as a Camcorder, through the composite or S-video inputs.

In this situation you would want to use the video system corresponding to your country:

    United Kingdom: PAL-I

    USA: NTSC

    Denmark: PAL-B/G

The ”Video live sound setting” should be set to "Line-in" in both the "live sound" and "recording sound".
