Q. How do I enable MP3 support?
A. Because of software patents, we cannot distribute MP3 encoding software ourselves. You may already have the encoder on your system. Simply search your hard drive for the file lame_enc.dll - if you find it skip straight to step 4 below. Otherwise follow these instructions to use the free LAME encoder to export MP3 files with Audacity.

Go to the LAME download page. - http://lame.buanzo.com.ar/

Under "For Audacity on Windows", left-click on the link "libmp3lame-win-3.97.zip" and save the zip folder to anywhere on your computer.

When you have finished downloading the ZIP folder, unzip it and save the file lame_enc.dll that it contains to anywhere on your computer.

The first time you use the "Export as MP3" command, Audacity will ask you where lame_enc.dll is saved.
Q. How do I transfer my tapes and records to the computer?

Q. How do I burn my music to CD?
A. Audacity provides the ability to capture your vinyl to the computer, but you will need additional software to burn your audio files to CD. Software such as iTunes, Windows Media Player and Nero are all capable of this.
Q. I'm having trouble getting the turntable to work with Audacity.

A. Download Early Eject Correction and follow the instructions to re-calibrate your turntable’s auto-eject feature.
Q: My CD doesn’t work, or is empty.
A: Download and install the latest version of Audacity (use google.com to search). Then see ‘How do I enable Mp3 support’ in this FAQ. After these steps are complete, you will have done everything for which the CD would have been required. Refer to the manual for further instructions.
